Our classic Vision SET 120 Power Amplifier is a uniquely musical high-fidelity amplifier that is designed to accurately preserve all of the energy of a live listening experience.
The Vision SET 120 Power Amplifier shares the same core circuit design as larger Vision SET amplifiers but in a space saving single-ended format designed for today's smaller, high quality speakers. It is rated at 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms and much more into 4 ohms.
Audio Circuits
The SET name stands for this amplifier family's unique Single Ended Transistor voltage amplifier design, which is based on a simple but amazingly effective single-ended transistor topology. This is followed by a very fast and rugged class AB power MOSFET output stage. Our SET amplifiers are uniquely DC stable, which means they will not generate speaker damaging DC drift even when driven past clipping.
The Vision SET 120 Power Amplifier handles difficult speaker loads from 4 ohms and up and provides plenty of power for any rational loudspeaker. It runs cool and is amazingly fault tolerant.
Power Supply Circuits
The SET 120 Power Amplifier's power supply has an oversized, high-capacity toroidal power transformer and is voltage regulated throughout. All of the power supply parts are selected for long life and reliability and operate well within their technical specification ratings.
The power supply regulation in our SET amplifiers extends to the output transistors. There are no unregulated power supplies -- anywhere! This helps the amplifier provide incredible bass control and micro dynamics.
The SET 120 operates with standard 120 volt AC power, has an IEC power jack, and includes a polarized 120V power cord.
