World-class analog-to-digital conversion for audiophiles.

The DVA A2D is a high performance analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that lets you listen to analog sources with digital preamplifiers* that don’t have built-in ADCs. It also provides a significant upgrade for digital preamplifiers that have built-in ADCs.

Unlike the ADC circuits found in many digital preamplifiers, the DVA A2D is built to true audiophile standards. It uses converters typically found in high-end studio equipment, but with input conditioning circuits that retain the full signal purity from consumer-type line-level input signals.

The DVA A2D has two selectable sets of RCA inputs and one isolated coaxial S/PDIF output. It was designed specifically for use with digital preamplifiers, so it doesn’t include the added cost of a USB output for computer use.

You’ll be shocked at how little you give away when processing a signal through a competently designed analog-to-digital converter. We were! In fact, we are willing to put the combination of the DVA A2D and our DVA Digital Preamplifier up against the finest analog preamplifiers. It’s that good.

Whether you want to use analog sources with our own DVA Digital Preamplifier or upgrade the analog-to-digital conversion with your current digital preamplifier, you won't be disappointed with what the DVA A2D will do for your system.

*"Digital preamplifier" is our term for any DAC with a variable output level that's connected directly to a power amplifier.

Layout and power supply

The DVA A2D is built into a compact 7" x 5" x 2.5" chassis. The power transformer is supplied as a separate “wall wart”, so no significant AC noise is brought inside the chassis. The internal power supplies use heavily filtered linear regulators for extremely low power supply noise.
